Another first for me

Finished this one up over the weekend. This is my very first attempt at putting a pen clip on a kitless pen – and the amount of creativity required to turn all of the different parts was crazy.

I had to make my own mandrel, with threads on the outside of one end, and threads on the inside of the other end in order to create the threaded piece that connects the finial to the rest of the cap, as well as to hold the finial in order to turn it.

Overall though – I am happy with the end result!

Nice work! I've bought some of the necessary tools for a bespoke pen but have yet to "pull the trigger" on actually trying one.

Excellent pen and excellent work. I think the creative problem solving we go through to figure out how to hold work through turning, sanding, and polishing is the best part of the hobby.
