I turned this Broadwell Art Deco Gold T/N and Chrome pen today. I used a spalted maple blank that I have had for a while and finally decided to turn. I stabilized it before I turned it. It had quite an interesting spalt pattern. Each line was a double line which gave it a nice effect. Let me know what you think and what I could do better on the photos. Thanks

It's a beautiful bit of wood. I'm not sure I like that kit(just a personal thing), but you've done a wonderful job with it.

The blank was very light and not very strong at all. It was cut crossgrain so it wanted to come apart on the spalt lines. But because it was crossgrain I was able to just soak it with extra thin CA. It went all the way through the blank without any trouble. So it ended up turning like a big block of CA.

Yeah the kit is not my fav, but I wanted to try something new.
