Roman Harvest Rollerballs

A couple of Roman Harvest Rollerballs in Rhodium and TiGold accents.

Those are looking good. Can I ask with the thin walls of a RH, what was your process for painting and glue up? I just did one toady and it was a disater with glue showing where it didn't stick. I painted the tubes then 5min epoxied them.

Jorge, paint the nside of the blank instead of the tubes, then the glue is between the tube and the paint.

At first I used to do the same thing, paint the tubes until I used a very translucent blank and saw the air pockects in the epoxy.

As Roy says, paint the inside of the pen blanks prior to glueing in the brass tubes. On these rollerballs I used some Liquitex acrylic paints I have kicking around. Antique Bronze one and Antique Silver on the other. Since the blanks were pretty translucent I applied a second coat in case of streaking.

I took a small dab of the paint on a toothpick and colored the epoxy as well.

The two Roman harvest Fountain Pens I made with these also have thin walls as I like the look of straighter barrels.
