This is my first hollow form. It is a piece of mesquite with a eucalyptus lid and ebony finial. I wanted to taper the bottom more but being that the end grain at the pith had heavy checking I was worried it would come apart. It is about 9 inches high 5 inches wide and more or less 1/8 thick. I had to start it on a face plate because I was scared that starting between centers It my split the wood so the opening is a little larger than I wanted. The finish is Danish Oil with a coating of Carnauba buffed on to finish.

Thanks,

Alan
