Craigslist :D Seriously though, you find good motors all day long for cheap money if you look. I "almost" drove out to pick up four motors (two 1hp's!) for just $50.00, but it was a 45 minute drive one way and I don't "really need" anymore spares really. :D

they also sell a nifty 3/4 horse dc variable speed motor and a 130v 8amp controller for $50 plus shipping for those of you looking to build variable speed grinders or whatnot.

If you have 220v available in your shop you can get one of their 2.5 horse treadmill motors and pair it up with a kbic 225 controller off ebay for a more serious grinder/saw motor.
