Kenworth fordite 'burl'

G'day!

Recently received some lumpy bumpy Kenworth fordite from the States that reminded me a little of burl.
It isn't suitable to use as is, so my great friend at Steve's Woodcraft here in Australia cast some pieces in resin for me.
I chose pearlescent black, which I think matched well with the reds and whites.

The black titanium/rhodium Majestic pen blended in with it also I think.
Fitted with a Jowo 1.5 stub nib, this thing has some heft!
Reminded me of Japanese cherry blossom for some reason.

That came out gorgeous! That's a really odd way for paint to drip, but that makes it all the more beautiful and interesting.

Congratulations Casey that combination using Sam to cast this way is a winning treatment that both enhances and safely holds the fragile material encapsulated in a time warp from where it was obtained. The effects are mesmerising,the patterns created like Snow drops every one unique and beautiful. Magnificent pen,excellent display and detail.
