instead of BLO/CA will TUNG/CA work????

Anyone tried using Tung oil instead of BLO with CA? Will it work?

Another crazy idea I am planning on experimenting on but would help if I can get insight first...no need to re-invent the wheel sort of thing if it is already done.

I have never tried it, but one comment I want to make is that what is sold as "Tung Oil Finish" has varishes and solvents, and very little if any real tung oil.

I am aware of that...that is why I asked for personal "recipe" on another thread [] so I can make my own from 100% Tung oil.

I have used tung oil on pens but I do do it a little different that alot of people do. I apply it and friction dry it or let it set overnite (better results) then add CA, which is how I do BLO also. They seem to yield similar results.

That is what I am hoping to hear.

I have way too much finishing products already that I am avoiding unnecessary purchase if possible. I mean if I can use Tung oil in lieu or BLO why not...doesn't mean I will not buy more finishing materials though. I am actually planning on getting TSW, and Ren wax soon too!
