So, I do other things too ....

The first is a spalted ________ wood bowl (not exactly sure the species) .. its about 7.5" x 2.5" deep.

The next is a Natural Edge "Ring Holder" for the LOML.

Thanks for looking!

Hi Lee,

I can't help you with the type of wood, as you aren't in Australia, I have a couple of identical stuff but it grows here, in my Town.

I particularly like the form of your first piece, indeed a shape that I found myself doing quite regularly.

Well done...!

PS: Did you stabilise the bark on the second piece with thin CA before start working on it...???

Cheers
George

Thanks George for the comments. I am new to turning, and I too like that shape. Its a first for me.

I did not stabilize the bark. I have been pretty lucky with the cherry I've been using, it stays on pretty well (except for the errant bowl gouge)

I just rattle-can laquered the finish for this to keep it simple.
