Rough turned this Ambrosia Maple Bowl green, back in January. Brought it out of the chips and finished turned it a week ago, and finished it with Waterlox.

i understand the term 'green' and when i read that...the first thing that went through my mind was checks and cracks. then you wrote about bringing it out of the chips......could you explain that to a pseudo-newbie?

After rough turning when the wood was green, I gathered up all the chips that came off, put them in a cardboard box, and hid the bowl under the chips.

Since Ambrosia Maple can turn gray when buried under its own chips, I spritzed the bowl with a dilute bleach solution first to keep that from happening.

I then let the rough turned bowl dry for a couple months with the box in my basement.
