Looking for a boring bar holder for 7x mini metal lathe, with a 3/8ths shank that will fit into the channel of this type of tool holder.

Chuck,
If that toolholder fits a standard OXA QCTP why not just buy an OXA boring bar holder like this?

Bill
Thanks Bill. I called them today. They have the tool holder like mine, but no boring bar holder. I'm thinking the guy would have told me the one you show would work if in fact it would. I think because the V slot is different.

The one Russel shows above is the one I would go with.

You could make your own but , as he's being so generous why bother, and it may be hardened too ?

Thanks Terry. Rick made a special tool for me. But he says he hasn't seen a holder like mine.

Thanks for your offer Russel. Thanks to Ian for comments. Not finding even any tool holders like mine anywhere on the net, I broke down and ordered a new set of OXA tool post and holder. That hurt but at least I'll be back in business in my shop.
Thanks to all for replies!

@Dalecamino I don't think the type of holder you have is relevant. It's the opening in the side that is critical to what will fit. It's also possible, that the holder you have will take a boring bar on its own.
When I got the tool holders for my lathe, I bought two types. One is a "turning/facing tool holder" and the other is a "Boring/turning/facing toolholder". The only difference, is that there is a V groove in the second one, which keeps the round boring bar in place. Looking at your picture, I think yours has the same V groove.

Thanks Darrin. My round bar is 1/2" diameter. The opening in these tool holders is 7/16" I could have it milled, but don't think it's worth the trouble.

AA, MSC, QCTP? Lots of acronyms here. How about some definition for all the dumb A$$'$ like me! Sorry Chuck, this might be an inside joke that is way over my head.
QCTP = quick change tool post (they tell me it's a metal lathe thing)
MSC = MSC Industrial Supplies, one of the big tool vendors (along with Grainger and MacMaster-Carr)
AA = no idea! ;)

Absolutely you count. I never needed a bar. Just a working refrigerator. 😊
Give me a large coffee and a bar of cadbury mile chocolate to assist in my musings anytime. Bit concerned that Cadbury has started to change receipe recently .
