Tumbling Block Pattern on Monarch

Tumbling block pattern on a Gunpolish & Antique Brass Elegant Monarch. The woods used were walnut, maple and cherry. The blank is comprised of 98 individual segments that were cut with a laser utilizing a custom built rotary device.

Thanks, Mark. I'm just glad it didn't fly apart when I was turning it. There a lot of glue lines there to contend with.

98 segments, and the curved shoulder (bushing ID to OD) is what... maybe .75mm (math was not my subject)... yea, pretty fragile! CA is your friend.

Hi Pierre, I have two pens from a previous design by Ken - They go around the pen. No distortion.

The segments are cut from round hollow wooden tubes using a laser and a very accurate rotary device that I built specifically for pen work. I lay out all my patterns for a seamless wraparound. This blank was a little tedious assembling because none of the segments interlock. Hope this helps answer your question.
