Cast Away Box Part II

Box will go out today. Here is the tracking # 9405 9036 9930 0045 0860 04.

Here are pics of how it looked when i got it, what i took out, what i put in and what it looks like with the goodies back in it. These are my FIRST casts, so they are not perfect, but i think i did pretty good. My blanks are Western Diamondback snake skin blanks, and there are a few air bubbles near the seams on them, but all in all i think i did quite well:biggrin: can hardly see the seams if it werent for the bubbles. Whoever gets the sierra blank will have to be careful when they get close to size. The seam is pretty thick, not sure how to make it smaller, so you might just hit the skin a little bit, but just at the seam. Just take it easy and cover with CA. Wish i had time to do more, but...................

Hey Justin, I grabbed the snakeskin set. The imprint from the mold says JRSR1. I am assuming that is a Jr. Gent v1 not a v2 correct?

Warren, thats a Jr Gent II blank, but will also fit a Jr Statesman, Jr Retro, Jr Majestic,Jr Victor, Triton, Jr Marshall, Venus and Jr Emperor. Thats just how Charlie labels his molds. Please post pictures after you have made it and let me know how i did. These were a few of my first casts.:redface:

I received the box. I have my blanks all done up, a few need to be rounded and checked for bubbles then I will be ready to send back off. With the holiday looks like I will have til Tuesday to decide which to keep...

I'll take pics this weekend..

No worries on the international shipping. I only feel bad because I am shipping to you and it's not you shipping to me. I'd love to get my hands on some of your blanks. They are spectacular.

I want to run the next one... I'm sure I could figure a way to have a Seamus quarter blank, some Brooks blanks and some Marla blanks.... Maybe send to those 3 first then box comes to me and I can verify there work.... Yeah that's the ticket...

I think you should stick to the rules and put in only blanks that you cast. Why would you put in somebody else's?

There were 2 reasons. But I will just mention one. I don't want to hold up the box. I took it planning to have already had my casting done, which I did. I took out 5 and replaced with 5. I had room for another blank to fit in which I didn't have previously made. So to pack the box completely I added another blank ( I chose from blanks who joined this swap ). I never thought it would cause an issue....please forgive my great mishap in attempting what I thought was a good deed...

It's not an issue as long as Brooks doesn't mind, since he started the trade and made up the rules.

no ill feelings here, i see your point and i see his too. this is supposed to be fun and after re-reading over the thread, i feel like James was being sincere in his words about adding an extra blank in the mix, and what better than to add one of Brooks803's into it!
