It is kind of hard to tell from the photo, but the tube doesn't look very scuffed up. Scuffing the tube makes a huge difference with epoxy.

So I am guessing you will fill in the crack with colored resin? If that is the case then just do not paint the tube.

It's a worthless wood cast. Alumilite slow in the middle of the blank.
