Hello All,
This is a little long, but PLEASE read.

I was reading a post by t001Xa22 (Bill) about a program called Beads of Courage where Childrens hospitals give beads to the child after each cancer treatment, milestone, etc...
http://www.penturners.org/forum/f18/very-thoughtful-idea-100532/

As I was diagnosed with cancer in June, the chemotherapy is not allowing me to make a pen up to my standards. (it is affecting my eyesight) But, after a little practice, I found I CAN turn a bead.

I would like to ask any member who has scrap cutoffs to help me out. I have about 8 more weeks of treatment before my doctor releases me back to work. If you would be willing to send me your scrap cutoffs, I can turn a BUNCH of beads for the program. Wood or resins, it does not matter, I will turn, seal, and deliver as many beads as I can get my hands on.

As any of you who have gone through a serious illness know, sitting around doing nothing is the worst thing. This project will help not only by giving me something to do, but hopefully help a child. Going through treatment is rough enough as an adult, I cannot imagine what is like for the children.

I have contacted the Childrens hospital here in Milwaukee, and they will gladly accept whatever I turn. (if you send me cutoffs and request they be sent to your local Childrens hospital, I will be glad to do that)

If you want to help, send me a PM and I will send you my address.

Thanks,
Ron

Oh, Ron!!!

You have no idea how much you will get from my "shop"!!!

I'll send one med flat rate, then see what we have!

Ron
I have a bunch of stuff for you. I'll give you a call.

Ed
I will be in your area tomorrow morning if I need to take my wife to the clinic in Racine. I can stop by and pick it up if you like. I'll give you a call tomorrow when I know what I'm doing.

Is there a minimum length that you need? I keep practically anything and I do not want to send you my trash. :)

I will send you a pm.

He responded to me and told me any length. I just sent my SFRB filled to the brim today. I am anxious to see what they look like as beads. :)

Ron, as per our previous messages, I have sent you my batch. As I said before, I admire your patience. My batch has a few beads already in it with the cut-offs, as the only time I did this was to make a bracelet for a young lady. I know there will be a lot of happy kids later on, with your beads. I also pray for your recovery, too. God bless you, buddy.
