Just yesterday It seems I found this place. After lurking around for 6-7 months on May 17th 2006 I joined. Along the way in the last 5years I've made some great friends and saw a few of them leave and new ones arrive. Boy time flys by quickly when your having fun and it's been a fun 5 years.

Congratulations Roy!!!

I believe your tenure here has been uninterrupted, as well. While we may not always agree, I always have and continue to consider you a very knowledgeable source. Look forward to another half decade of tossing ideas back and forth!!--Congrats!!!

But can you remember all five years is what I want to know.:biggrin::biggrin:

Yes this is a great place with wondeful members. Even people that aren't always wonderful at least bring color to the place. And we all know how colorful Eagle coupld be. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

As someone relatively new, what stands out in your mind as the number one benefit of the IAP?

I know in my experience it has to be the number of ideas that come from this site. It seems everyday that I say to myself " Wow I didn't know you could make a pen out of that"?

I retired on May 5, 2006 and was up in Gettysburg for an RV rally on the 17th and hadn't started turning yet so I couldn't even describe a skew to someone, now I can spell it!

Time sure does fly doesn't it!

Greg, there is so much it's hard to point out one but if my backs against the wall and have to then it would be the incredible amount of help that is offered here, a question can be posted and with-in just a few minutes, you'll have recived your answer from a number of members. While not all agree each one is given with the intent to help and each one is the right way for that person. I learn and add to my pen turning, merchandising, photography, casting, etc almost every time I log on. I'm in the same boat as George as 5 years ago I couldn't spell skew or Emperor:biggrin: and because of a member we no longer hear from who was our spell check I now can. Thanks Cav.

You got here a few months before me Roy and I've always looked to you as the 'The Old Guy with Style'
You're a class act, and it's a privilege knowing you. I'm looking forward to the next 5 years, and hope we perhaps even get to meet during those 5 years!!

Roy, you are one of the few "old guys" who are still around that I look to for inspiration. I know life goes on and people come and go, but I thank you for all of your contributions good, bad and ugly....naw just good and bad. I have yet to see any ugly pens from you!!:biggrin:

Congratulations! Keep going and you might catch me!

Roy, I appreciate having you here. I always look forward to seeing that funny looking helmet that goes along with your posts. Thanks for being part of my "extended family!"

Scott.
