Last week John @JohnU showed some lovely pens that he made from scraps and I was thinking that I should be doing the same. I need a bit of a thin out.

Camphor Laurel, Shiraz grape vine, Bloodwood, Indian Rosewood, Purple Heart, and Cocobolo included.

The process of thinning out materials can lead to new designs, new thoughts of how to use small cutoffs, small end caps. I rarely threw away any scrap, (not used) potential segmenting materials - they were gold!

Enjoy!

Your top picture looks like mine several years ago. Although the pict below is a small area, I had a table top covered with pieces similar to yours.

Currently I am not doing anything - back problems with pinched nerve with electrical like fire just above my shoulder blade, and a lower crushed disk or something that hurt like the . . . ..

Oh I have that problem also. But this past winter I did amajor cleanup in the shop and have to say I had a shelf full of those pieces but I put them in a plastic container. I did not throw them away because that is not nice but did store away to be used at a later date hopefully.

God willing your back problems will reverse and you can get that feel good factor and freedom of movement again.

I always enjoy seeing your 30 pieces of silver pen when it comes up and it is one of the reasons that I started persuing segmentation.
I would love to see more of your designs on a pen, Hank.
Blessings
