What a difference a finish makes

Recently, I'd posted pics of a nearly complete CD rack I built for a coworker.
It's solid black cherry. All the previous photos were washed out or imbalanced and
the cherry looked funky. I've been working on the finish using Dewaxed shellac, BLO,
and Original Waterlox
Today, I finished rubbing out the last topcoat.
I'm finally happy with how this turned out:

Wow! Gary, you must have put a lot of effort into that finish, and it really shows. The CD rack looks great, and you know it is only going to look better with time. I've read so many good things about Waterlux, I really have to try it sometime. Your friend is going to be very pleased!

Ditto.

Cherry ages well...this is surely going to outlast us and will be handed down for generations (maybe for other purposes though) ;)
