A few days ago I got a 14" jet bandsaw, and I need to protect it from rust. We keep bees and I heard beeswax works well, but the stuff we have is rock hard and crumbles a lot. How do I apply it to my cast iron table?
Thanks for your time.

I use Johnson Paste Wax also, I normally wax my cast iron two maybe three times a year after cleaning and tuning. About 3-4 coats with 15 mins in between.

I have been using parafin wax for years. I do this not only for rust protection but also for keeping a slick surface. Just rub on and buff with a course rag. Burlap or an old towel works fine. For table saw, don't forget the fence and rails.

If you wax the floor under the freezer(with no wheels), you can slide it out by your self.

I use Boeshield on a twice monthly basis, then wax once a month. I have used both beeswax and Johnson's. Prefer the Johnson's.
