Watches for Christmas presents

These are watches I made for Christmas presents - the last one includes a matching pen and picture frame - all from the same piece of bocote. That lovely face in the frame is my new puppy - adorable, ain't she?

Did you stain the ends of the pen? I like the black on the wood a litle bit to match the pen hardware.

No I didn't stain the ends. I didn't have quite enough bocote for each end of the pen so I used a bit of African Blackwood to finish out the pen parts. I just got really lucky with the grain matching at the centerband end of the top part of the pen. It all worked out pretty well.
