Here are a couple tries at designs for some Mother's Day vases for the church. I want to keep it simple because we are going to need to make 30-50 of them. I decided to go with the Hour Glass design. And probably will get some really curly wood and make them all the same.

This is some walnut the are 6.25" tall and and max out at 2" wide. I might go a little wider? Maybe 2.24" - 2.5"

Nice job on both. I prefer the shape of the vase on the right. Depending on what you are planning on putting in them, you could probably make them a little shorter and still create an eye-pleasing design.

Bless you for you will be uttering foul words beneath your breath after doing that much Walnut.... Just kidding Grizz I like the hour glass if you are doing a bunch, much easier to duplicate if doing by hand. In case you cant tell I'm not fond of turning dry walnut..
