A few weeks ago I posted that I was looking for some trustone scraps to practice on. Well Danny (jd99) and Richard (randbcrafts) came through. Well today I was finally able to chuck some up and make something to try it out. I still have a few more pieces to try out and one M3 piece. I picked up some Acorn caps a while back to use my pen blank scraps on and figured what better way to display than this.

I sanded the Trustone to 600 then polished w/ huts ultra high gloss.

Thanks everyone. I wish I could claim the idea as my own but I have seen it here once before. That was what made me buy the caps a long time ago.

As far as how. I turned a piece of scrap 5/8" round and placed it in my collet chuck and CA'ed the scrap piece on. Could be done w/ a chuck or even some scrap on a face plate, glue block what ever you have. They took about 5 mins each to finish and a little med CA to hold them in. Used my calipers to size.
