here are three pieces which I've completed recently

ovoid form with metal schlag effect gold leaf 5"wide by 5 1/2" tall

Don't really know what to say about the first one...guess since I'm not really sure about the material used I'll just say "Cool!"


The timbers used for the remaining, WOW! Spalting is always just a mystery until turned through the black lines...I think you stopped in just the right spot.

I recall you saying that you were going to write an article about making small forms or boxes.

did that ever happen, and where would I find a copy?

The Penguin: I've wrote a few articles- there was an amalgam mutt box one in the woodturning design magazine October 2011- or there have been a few in the woodturning magazine covering: acrylic boxes(may 2012), mini carved hollow forms(april 2012) resin hollow form(feb 2012)and hollow form tips(dec 2011) clear resin box( sept 2011)

the woodturning magazine can be mail ordered from GMC direct here in the u.k or is available on the I tunes store to download for ipad etc
