My niece recently got married. My wife decided it would be a good thing to give her a tambour mantle clock as a gift. The following is my first attempt. There are a great many things I would change from this metyhod but the resuklts were quite interesting.
The picture does not do it justice but the clock came out nice.
I used purple heart (7 BF of it) to cut out each of the pieces and laminated them together. The mechanism in this one is a chiming quartz movement. I am currently making a second clock out of cocobolo with a mechanical movement.
