I am in need of a new drive center and am not terribly thrilled with spur centers. Anybody use the Stebcenter?
Hey Don .... do you use the "official" Sorby steb center or someone else's?
Somewhere I have read about using a cup live center & a triangular file to cut teeth in to the edge to create a cheap version of the stebcenter. If I run across the link I will post it.
I have the cheaper version sold by CSUSA (They also sell the Sorby). It works great at 1/3 the cost.

????? I don't understand how you could use a cup "LIVE CENTER" as a drive center even if you file notches in the cup??

The cheaper version from CSUSA is 7/8" diameter. How does this work on a 3/4" blank?
