Spring 2014 PITH Rules & Signups!!!!

But I know we can get more!!! Here's who I have so far. If you already signed up, make sure your name is on this list and your country is correct, if not let me know right away. We have 1 person from Canada, 2 from Hawaii (Way to represent!!!) and everyone else so far is mainland USA (unless I messed up) but I'm sure we can get some more participation from all across the IAP community, so there is still plenty of time to sign up!!!!

I'm going fog hunting this weekend to see if I can add some more fog fillets to my larder.

I'm already searching for materials.

Kiawe I picked up tonight. Not sure if I'll use it or not, but I've got enough for a few blanks. Don't mind the blade - I was lazy and didn't change it. :redface:

Thanks. Guess I got lucky there, it is pretty neat. The heartwood passes diagonally through the blank. Should be pretty cool when turned.

If it wasn't for this PITH I'd have not been out scrounging.

Since Kiawe is considered an invasive species here and I can get all the fallen Kiawe I want, I'll most likely grab some more fallen stuff and cut more blanks.

I cut that blank from a fallen branch that was 2 1/2" -3" in diameter. That had a good mix of heartwood and sapwood so I'll be on the hunt for similar-sized pieces.

OK folks, we are at about a week past the date that you should have sent your partner their pen. Now we all know that things come up that cause delays, especially when we try something new, but the key to a good PITH is keeping your partner's informed in these situations.

IF YOU HAVE NOT SENT YOUR PEN AT THIS TIME, YOU MUST BE IN TOUCH WITH YOUR PARTNER INFORMING THEM OF THE DELAY AND GIVING THEM AN APPROXIMATE TIME YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO SHIP IT OUT!!!

If you have not received a package from your partner and have not been informed of the delay, please send them a message asking for a status update. If after a reasonable amount of time, you still do not hear from them. Let me know and I will follow up with them also.

Thanks to everyone who participated in this PITH. I hope you all had fun, met a couple new members, tried something new, and learned a bit along the way!!!

Be sure to post photos in the Photo thread also, so we can all see the great pens that were made!!!

OK, I know a couple people are still waiting for their partners to complete and ship their pens, but they are in touch with each other so all is good on that front. If there is anyone out there still waiting who has not been in touch, please let me know by PM RIGHT AWAY.

I'd also like to remind everyone to post pics, (whatever you are able to do is fine...) so that everyone can see what your partner did for you. If you are unable to post photos, please let your partner know that it is OK for them to do so. Many people would love to see their work on display, but don't want to step on their partners toes by posting it instead...
