Turning this Zen pen was not an easy task and turned out flawed anyways. I have never even thought about painting tubes for a wooden pen. Guess I'll have to rethink that. This was a Chechen burl blank that I stabilized, plenty of voids appeared as I turned it. You can see a couple of areas where the brass is showing through. I'll be disassembling it and remaking it. Darn shame because this is some gorgeous wood. As usual, pictures don't do it justice. You can be sure I'll be painting any tubes using the rest of the blanks I have.
