Once in a while, my wife is able to convince me to make a needle case for one of her quilting friends. This one is going to be a present for a 13 year old young lady in Canada. This needle case is made from a 5/8" Dymondwood dowel.

Nicely done, looks like the right sort of color for a 13 year old girl. I am intrigued by the threads, I would not expect something like Dymondwood to take threads well. Did you just go nuts with thin CA and effectively put threads in CA? Are they tap and die, or chased?

I use a 7/16th 20 tpi bottoming tap and die set to thread the dymondwood. The dymondwood actually threads easily, although, you do need to thread the body before you dill the hole or the dymondwood will fall apart. And I do douse the theads with CA and then rethread the needle case.
