Maybe I'm too old, but when I was a kid and we went to the butcher shop there were always guys missing thumbs, fingers, or part of a finger. All directly relatable to their bandsaw. Watch how most people push material through a bandsaw, their fingers/thumb are directly in line with the blade.
 
I have yet to see a detailed video on exactly how this technology works on a bandsaw. So far all I see it stops the blade dead in it's tracks. Now you know as with the tablesaw that the blade is shot. Does it stop the motor also because if not then you wear the tires down and the bearings can not like it either. Smaller blades will definetly break so that could be a concern. I think the new Harvey tools coming out have better ideas. As with a tablesaw common sense and awareness are key factors when operating any power tool. The SS bandsaw is suppose to come out mid 2027 so hurry get on that waiting list. LOL.
 
Just an after thought. Finally saawstop technology is being challenged and there is no way this time it will be stopped. Harvey which I mentioned is a huge up and coming tool manufactorer that is making top notch tools and blowing away Festool as well as sawstop. They will have a tablesaw that is going to come out that has finger touch shut down technology but does not stop blade and and need a replacement cartridge. It too has not revealed all the details but the saw is loaded with technology and features they are calling it the Dream Saw. Their prices are high but looks like you are paying for technology. I recently bought these for bandsaw and tablesaw work and yes they are not cheap but smooth as silk.
