I have been searching for a high gloss finsih on my pens without any success as of yet. Today I finished turning a pen using curly bubinga and so far I have put two coats of sanding sealer on and one coat of shellac 1# cut. Tomorrow I will steel wool off the shellac and put on four coats of Sam Maloof Poly/oil followed up tomorrow with two coats of Sam Maloof Oil/wax. Could anyone tell me if this good for pens and if it would hold up under normal use? I appreciate any and all imput and want to Thank everyone in advance for any info.
