This is a bowl I turned from some Red maple I found. I thought the red was gone from the grain, but when I finished sanding and applying the finish the red had returned.

Very nice, john, I guess I'll have to turn some of mine now. After your call that the red disappeared with drying, I decided to put that maple on the back burner. It's now back on the front burner... Do I smell smoke? Oh crap my maple is burning!![:D]

I hope to get around to another party sometime, but right now my deck has already been rented for a couple of graduation parties. So we shall see what works out.
