Thank you all for the input. To answer a few questions on this feed and the PMs I have received…
The display board is one that I custom made out of a ton of 6" trapezoid pieces that are covered in felt and pin nailed to a piece of ½" plywood. All of the front exposed edges are covered in felt as well. I will try to get some clearer pictures of it uploaded.
I have a cousin that owns
www.MyTradeshowDisplay.com. He got me a good deal on my tent, the teardrop banner on the front right tent pole (can't see but half of the banner), and the artwork on them both. PM me if you want his contact info as he does excellent work and he can give great rates too.
We were a little short on cash for booth upgrades (table covers, walls and such) so we opted to put our cash into making more pens. Our next show we should have some walls for covering the sides to block out the neighbors cluttered up looks. I was thinking of putting a laser engraved logo on a plaque of wood in the bottom center of the main display board. Table cloths instead of our current black sheets would be a nice touch, especially if I get them with the HB logo on them.
I am also working on building a glass (plexi-glass) case for displaying the upper end of our collection. I just have not come up with a design that I like yet.
I do like the idea to raise the table height. It did feel a tad low during the show, and my back was starting to feel it with all the leaning over. What do you all think would be a good height for the table at my next show? Your standard kitchen counter top is 42", I think. Would that be a good height?
We had server styles of pens available, razors, bullet pens, etc… and we were all over the board from high end to low end and from the flashy to the subdued for what were sold.
We are not sure what shows we will be up to next. Unfortunately our real work jobs get in the way of the fun "turning" jobs.
