This has been a 3 week project that I am very happy to have finished. It's a donation group I provide every year to the IL Taxidermist Assoc to help fund their youth program scholarships and such. It gives me the opportunity to make pens out of Mother Natures materials. The groups seem to get bigger each year as I look for more things to add.
This year started with 5 wood Jr's I made from figured Camphor that I received from Joe (Wood128) here on IAP. He was right when he said the smell of Camphor would clear my sinuses! These pens go to their competition judges.
Next is a duck feather Jr Statesman. I actually made 2 of these that look very similar. One will be auctioned off and the proceeds, along with the second pen will go to a fellow bird taxidermist who is fighting cancer.
The large group of sierra (Diamond knurl's from Exotic Blanks) will be used for raffles, auctions and gifts to assorted members. They consist of Ringneck pheasant feathers, assorted duck feathers, python snake, red stag antler, Amherst pheasant, Chukar Partridge, engraved wood, alligator jaw bone, and some opal fx.
The last pics are some left over antler pieces I made some key chains and bottle openers (caribou & whitetail), along with some bottle stoppers I engraved that were turned by Dick Sing that fit over the bottle. (something different from the usual stoppers).
Thanks for looking!
