Portraits In Wood

Here is a portrait I had done of a friend. Starting off with a photo I work slowly into a pattern then the pattern goes to wood and the wood goes to the scroll saw. Next time I do a portrait, I’ll do a Blog WIP on it.

I have done many of those. People, children, grandchildren, pets, and random items. I make all my own patterns now.

Wow.. Thats a cool thing. Thats gotta make an amazing gift item for someone. Those image are interesting when they are laser engraved, but hand cut - thats talent.

Great job! I have made a few, how did you make your pattern? I used photo shop to turn the pic to a negative, is that what you do?
