today was bowl day . Turning a small bowl 6" or so finished , from an ash log .
the challenge is getting down thin enough to split off from the drive core WITHOUT going through the base / side . It really focuses your. mind on tool angles although you do have variable speed
. managed to get fairy even 3/8 wall thickness apart from base .
I keep reminding myself we do this for pleasure ! mind you it's very civilised we stop for lunch n then recommence at a more " leisurely " pace afterwards
