Here is my second plunger-filler. I designed the plunger system and made everything but the nib assembly. The nib is a #5 Schmidt fine with a snap cap. The snap cap gives a smooth transition from the body to the section. The body and cap are Diamond Cast Metalurgy with an acetal section (messed up the Diamond Cast section:() The clip is 0.071" diameter stainless steel wire. The pen feels good in hand and the Schmidt nib writes well and is quite wet.
Overall length: 5.58"
Length uncapped: 4.73"
Cap Length: 2.56"
Body dia: 0.46"
Max cap dia: 0.61"

Things I have to work on are; wire bending, make a smaller diameter body and refining the shape of the section.

Hi Byran
I purchased my Schmidt nibs from Milan's Pens. It comes with the nib assembly and the snap housing. The nib has a lip that snaps into a groove in the housing. At the tip of the snap housing there is an collar with a ID that accommodates a 10-32 tap, a metric tap might work also. I make my cap an finial bored and tapped 10-32. I screw a 10-32 set screw into the end of the snap cap then thread that into the cap. You can use a flat bladed screw driver to adjust the depth of the snap cap but I have a pen cap adjustment tool that works better, IMHO. The set screw should be long enough to protrude out the cap to fasten the finial. I made a finial because I wasn't sure my clip was going to work otherwise the cap and finial would be one piece.

Thanks for the information. I have some Schmidt roller ball nibs that look like that. I thought the plastic cover was just to protect the nib in shipping. Now I know. Thanks!
 
I like the clip, too. I've been trying to figure out a way to make clips that works with my limited vision.
