ANd you won't tell us or won't admit to what the bottom is.
Only kidding,O.K. you got me intrigued
It's uhhh different I'll give you that.
O.K. I looked at it abain.
At first glance I thought buttons, but the ceners are not "machined"How about antler ends? That might go with the fact te main part looks like the inner core of a stabilized antler, but the holes surrounding them are not symmetrical.
Possibly twigs set with rubberized CA?
Baking soda and twigs ,CA around the tube?

OK, I hate to make you suffer. It's peppercorns, sea salt and a lot of CA.

I didn't know things were getting that bad, when you have to raid the pantry for items to make pens [:D]

Very creative and unussual Darrel, nice job.

Yeah but I'm not sure I meant box of sea salt.
Now THAAAATS one of a kind!
I'm wondering, did it come out like you expected and which half did you make first?

The upper barrel was a leftover from a long time ago, the lower barrel of that pen blew up from being dried too quickly in the microwave. The color of the arbor vitae seemed to match the peppercorn color OK so I made use of it.
It looks about as expected, thought the salt might be more transparent and sparkly. You can always chew on it if you forget the salt and pepper on a picnic.

Just a thought I had and a weird one...

If you subbed out the peppercorns and used Habnero seeds instead, that'd be a seller to some chiliheads! Might even have an marketing angle in the chilihead magazine.
