Yes Ken. I painted the inside of the bowl gold, to seal the wood, then applied variegated faux gold. I used gold pait for sealing as if any of the gold leaf flakes off the background just blends in.

I used a wood burning pen to create a series of "V"s all aroud the rim, then painted all the inner portions with black gesso.

Yes Jon they know it's gone, just not a clue as to who has it [:D]

I forgot to mention the first one, looks like a chalice. I relly like the shape and proportion of it. I have thought about turning some for our church to use during lent but had not thought of that kind of shape, very nice.

I also never heard of that Woodturning Cruise, that looks like it would be a lot of fun and very interesting. I might have to drop a hint or two about that to the wife, she has been wanting to go on a cruise.
