Paint & Resin Question

I just saw a picture on the "Show Off Your Pens" forum. The Loofah Cigar I have been playing with stuff for a wile.

He powder coated the tube. I like that idea of casting the tube in the loofah. I was just casting loofah then drilling the blank and painting the hole.

My question is has any one painted there tube before casting. Does it react with the resin or the heat. And if some one has done it what type of paint.

I just saw Steve's powder coat pen real nice. Can you paint a blank and achieve good quality??

I paint my tubes that go under label pens and it has worked fine so far. It's just Krylon flat white.
