Here a couple views of a pen I completed recently. I had purchased a box of cut-offs from someone here on the forum (I'm sorry, I can't remember who it was). I started kind of randomly gluing them together and came up with the pen shown here.

The pen isn't perfect... I don't know if you can see some of the glitches in the photos or not, but one of the reasons I wanted to post it is that I never sanded it a bit until I started working down the CA finish - sandpaper never touched the wood on the pen. The obvious reason is because I didn't want to smear the different colors of wood across each other in the process.

Looks Great Tony! you did a really good job on the wood. as for the sanding I find cleaning the sanding dust from the barrels with a paper towel and a couple drops of acetone before polishing keeps the dust from smearing to the different woods.

Beautiful woodwork! You must have a seriously sharp skew chisel to get away without any sanding...
