Thank you to the Association for allowing me to join such an awesome group. I have only been into turning for a little over a year. I have never been involved in a more enjoyable craft in my life. Even though I have tried to sell a few of my creations, I end up giving away many more to friends and family. I have branched out a bit into pepper grinders, pocket watches, and seam rippers, but pens are my absolute favorite. I have learned a lot from reading through many of the member entries, and I hope to continue learning. Thank you for the time you took to read my intro.

Welcome from Wichita Falls. I think you have been bitten. Enjoy the craft.
Also, watch the chapter meeting forum. The N Texas chapter had a meeting today N of Denton. Maybe you will be able to attend the next one....keep an eye out for the announcement.
Do a good turn daily!

Welcome to the group! I strongly encourage you to come to the next chapter meeting! It will allow you to put faces with names and learn lots of new things. Tonight's meeting was my first and I look forward to many more!

Welcome William, from far west Kentucky, to the addiction, sometimes referred to as the vortex. Be sure to give the library a good bit of time. The link is at the top of the page. You will find an article called Library Index. This covers tutorials on about anything pen making you can think of. You will also notice that there are articles listed by year. Much good info there as well. When these fail to answer your questions, by all means post it here. I have never seen one go unanswered very long. You might also want to give this thread a good look. It has some very good info for the beginning pen turner; http://content.penturners.org/articles/2009/Getting_started_in_penturning.pdf. Grab some wood, make some shavings and have fun all the while being safe.
