Ed,

Welcome to IAP, lots of help available. A good start would be to check out the library, lots of tutorials and videos there.

Welcome to the IAP!

There was a thread way back about "What I wish I had known before I started turning pens" that would often be posted by member leehljp or CSue when a new member was introduced.

I tried to do a search for it but I do not have very good luck using the IAP search feature :frown:
I'm hoping someone will post it for you. :)

I look forward to seeing your pens!

Welcome Ed, from far west Kentucky, to the addiction, sometimes referred to as the vortex. Be sure to give the library a good bit of time. The link is at the top of the page. You will find an article called Library Index. This covers tutorials on about anything pen making you can think of. You will also notice that there are articles listed by year. Much good info there as well. When these fail to answer your questions, by all means post it here. I have never seen one go unanswered very long. You might also want to give this thread a good look. It has some very good info for the beginning pen turner; http://content.penturners.org/articles/2009/Getting_started_in_penturning.pdf. Grab some wood, make some shavings and have fun all the while being safe.

JimB I was originally from Upstate NY, went camping at Piseco Lake, Raquette Lake and a lot of other places up there. I met Corain King yesturday after work and he is a real good guy.

Thanks for all the pointers and links, I have checked out some of the library, and got some good ideas.

Oh and me posting my pens... I don't want to be pointed at and laughed at :p
