went to a local auction this morning and happened upon a shopsmith. so i stayed around to watch it sell. much to my wifes suprise i brought it home with me for $200. after talking to the old owner this shopsmith was originally bought by my great grandfather in the 60s. kinda neat to obtain a piece of tooling that was once in the family. i also came home with an old craftsman electric crosscut saw for $40 dollars. cant wait to get them cleaned up and back in use

Congratulations on finding your own history. It is always fun to find the history of used equipment, but when it turns out to be part of your own, well, that is just gravy on the biscuit. Take care of it and it will take care of you.

not real sure what model it is as of yet. i am in the process of researching it now. i had the cover off cleaning out years of saw dust and it has a 3/4 horse motor. also included are a router fence, table saw table and 7 1/2 blade, one extension table, and rip fence.
