I found this project in an old scrollsaw magazine and decided to try it out. I could say I turned on my lathe but this place can only handle so much BS. :rolleyes:
Made from mahogany.

There's really not that much art involved, thanks for the kudos though. It's more a formula for cutting segments out of wedges of wood on a scrollsaw and gluing them up. Take a bit of patience to finish it with all the sanding, smoothing and varnish. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a way to do it with a bandsaw as well. And it all starts with laying a penny on the wood and tracing a semicircle on the edge.
