Nice first pen. Good shape to it. You just need to press the nib end in a bit more :wink:
I started with red oak to be on the safe side. If I messed up it wouldn’t be a big loss. I thought that using the stain would bring out the grain in the wood. I bought a $7 board and turned it into 30 blanks.Welcome to the forum. Nice pen and great finish. Many regard red oak as firewood.
