I made this a couple of years ago for my brother's restaurant. I just pulled it out of there for a little TLC and I figured I'd snap a few pics.

This was made from 4/4 African Mahogany. What I love about this piece, other than it being my first lectern, is that I was able to design it without using screws and bolts, etc. All of the joints are glue joints. The center is hollow and has shelves for wine bottles. The front has a hand carved logo set into the wood (another first for me).

So, here it is, all cleaned up and refinished (6 coats of Waterlox later).

That is really sharp!

Oddly enough, I learned the word... "Lectern" just today. I was playing Oblivion, and had to look in a chick's Lectern to find her painting supplies and prove she stole the painting... or some such business.

And they say video games only rot your brain!
