A couple items I have been working on. First, my GD went to check out the library displays our turning club has set up, since she lives just down and across the hwy. from the library. She texted me and stated she needed a biscuit cutter and a set of salt/pepper mills. So, I turned her a Cherry biscuit cutter and engraved it on the CNC. Showed her the mills I had available and she likes the ones on display. Maybe, I will get lucky and get a loaf of sourdough bread in payment... maybe. Next, is another box for the table decorations ay SWAT. It's a winged box out of Sapele with a Walnut finial. The underside of the finial has a small piece of Abalone shell for an accent piece. The finish on the biscuit cutter and box is Mahoney's Walnut oil.

Nice turnings. FWIW, I would opt for the biscuit cutter; biscuits along with gravy and bacon or sausage.

Thanks for the comments, appreciated. Woodchipper, I'm with you. My Grandpa worked for a sawmill company and my Grandmother cooked breakfast for the workers, biscuits, sawmill gravy and bacon.

Got two more boxes done for SWAT. One is a threaded box ~2 1/4 X 2" and the other box is ~ 2 3/4 X 2" with just a snug fit top. The wood is dyed laminated maple stock from Cousineau Wood Products. The finish is friction polish. The 2 3/4" box has a small Tiger head charm epoxied on the top. The threads were cut using a Baxter Thread Master 16tpi. I cut the threads on the bottom section in the wood, but on the top of the box, I actually made an insert using Corian. This made lining up the pattern a little bit easier. Still need to refine that part of the process.
