My wife gave me a laser engraver for Christmas. I have played with it on bare wood and have successfully completed a couple of engraved pens.
My question is in regards to engraving after a CA finish has been applied. What might be in the fumes? Is there apt to be a danger beyond venting?
I don't like applying CA after the laser.

Congratulations on the laser!
No problem engraving after CA - I prefer it rather than CA after and filling the engraving.
Some folks recommend putting a coat or two of CA on wood before engraving just to seal the wood and prevent burning out side the cut.
I would turn a few pieces to pen size and try different methods and see which your prefer.

Congratulations to the laser!
I also have a laser recently and this is my first attempt on a CA-finished fountain pen.
