I use CA all the time to fill in gaps, cracks, knots, or tearout. So many imperfections (and even mistakes) end up looking amazing once they're filled, turned, sanded, and polished. Kind of like children, once they're finished, you can't imagine them any other way, "imperfections" and all.
As PatrickR said, don't use the accelerator. Every time I get in a rush and try, I end up with tiny "pits" in the CA once it's hardened, and these inevitably get filled with sanding dust or other debris and end up creating white spots in the finish. And then when I show my wife, she immediately finds it and says "what happened there"?
