My first attempt at both kit and wood. Pretty happy except for a few little flaws in the finish, that of course didn't show up till after I assembled it. Gotta figure out why that happens every once in a while.

Thanks everyone.
This blank is pretty redish, although the pic makes it look a little more than it is. I think the color can vary depending on where it is taken from the tree and the environment where the tree grows. This blank ended up in my last order from BB, so I assume it is an AZ tree but that is just a guess. Lemme tell you, this is one heavy pen.

By the way thanks for telling about that hardwood guy in CHandler. I stopped by the other day and he had some great stuff

Really nice work...but I'm with the others. I've turned a lot of ironwood but have never seen it red.
