Hello everyone,
I would like a make a body with an ink-view window. I will be using epoxy to put them together.
Would you make tenons or just put them together? I would be using Alumilite.

Thanks, Chris

What John said.

One tip to save a little time experimenting with it (though it might be obvious I didn't think of it in advance): I've found it looks much better if the transparent piece fits into the opaque piece (in other words, the window segment has a tenon that fits into the barrel). This avoids ugliness at the seam.

We're doing ours without assistance currently but there is a tenon cutter that will work for single and triple start threads.

I know with practice one could very efficiently make tenons without needing a cutter, but a cutter provides very consistent results each time after the learning curve I would think.

Thanks everyone for your advice. I need to work on polishing the inside.

I've had success with small diameter polishing bobs with 1/8" shanks. You can buy assortments from Amazon for cheap. I made a mandrel to hold them and use polishing compound.
